Steven Jayson: Chef of the Month

Steven Jayson, C.E.C.


Chef Steven Jayson is the Executive Chef of Universal Resort Group worldwide with an excess of 25 years of experience in the culinary field. He graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in 1974 and before coming to Universal spent 10 years at the Hyatt Hotel Corporation. He has been an active member of the ACF for over 20 years and with the Central Florida chapter for 14 years. Currently the Chairman of the Board, Chef Jayson has also served as the President twice over these years. He has held the title of American Culinary Federation Southeast Regional Chef of the Year in 1997 and in 2000 and was also selected in 2000 as the American Culinary Federation National Chef of the Year. Chef Jayson is also one of only four chefs to win the IFMA Silver Plate award.

For the past eight years and currently Chef Jayson is the Chairman of the culinary competitions at the Florida Restaurant Show. He is responsible for coordinating the competitions at the show which include the Culinary Super Challenge Team Championship and "Schreiber's American Culinary Federation, Florida State Championship Apprentice/Junior Member Team Skills Competition" to name a few. Chef Jayson, himself has won over 100 ACF culinary competition awards.
