The ACF organization was created for one basic reason: to promote a professional image of the American chef worldwide, through education of culinarians at all levels-from apprentices to the accomplished Certified Master Chefs of the culinary arts. The ACF was the pioneer responsible for elevating the status of Executive Chefs from service status, to the professional category with the Department of Labor. The ACF is a network of people that promote a positive image of the culinary profession. We are a resource to our community and more importantly our members.

Giving back to the community is one of our top priorities. We are involved in fund raising dinners and events throughout the Central Florida area. Fighting hunger is one of our national goals, and is certainly one of our chapter's goals as well. We have worked directly with the local food banks, such as Second Harvest, to raise donations and awareness of our community's food needs. As a chapter, we responsible for organizing culinarians to participate in the Taste of Compassion, which raises funds for the Compassionate Friends Foundation so they can provide meals for our communities homeless population. Each year we look forward to sponsoring the Christmas party for Give Kids the World Village-a celebration that has fed thousands of children and families over the years. We have also been a proud sponsor of the COPE (Creating Opportunities through Parenting Education), a program that allows teenage mothers to complete their high school education while their babies are in a school sponsored day care program. Our sponsorship ensures there is always formula, baby food, diapers, etc. available when needed.
We have created, and run one of the largest culinary competitions in the country. Each year, for the past 20 years, we have hosted Chefs and cooks from all over the world who come to Orlando to participate in the Florida Restaurant Association/ACF Culinary competition. Many of the competitors have been from our own chapter, and our proud holders of numerous medals for their accomplishments.
This is the organization for enthusiastic culinarians in Central Florida. Here is where the best Chefs and cooks in the area meet to share ideas and information about the industry that we are proud to be a part of. This is where it all comes together, the ACF/Central Fl Chapter.
